Apple Bodemer, M.D.

Dermatologist

Apple Bodemer is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After finishing her residency, she completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona. She was the first Dermatologist to be Board Certified in Integrative Medicine and currently serves on the American Board of Integrative Medicine. She is also Board Certified in Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. Bodemer is passionate about teaching and works with both Dermatology residents at the University of Wisconsin and Integrative Medicine Fellows both in Wisconsin and Arizona. She is one of the founding faculty at LearnSkin and helped develop the Integrative Dermatology Certificate Program which educates Board Certified Dermatologists about Integrative Dermatology. Additionally, she serves as core faculty for the Integrative Skin Health Series and Integrative Esthetician Certificate Program also through LearnSkin. She has authored Chapters in the Primary Integrative Medicine textbook and written curriculum for the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellowship program as well as for the National Veterans Association Whole Health Initiative.


She is committed to prevention and believes that the best way to impact health is to empower people to take their health into their own hands. She has significant experience interacting with people through a variety of media outlets including radio, television, and print, and has worked with a number of schools to educate children about skin cancer prevention.
Her passion in this area is exploring how lifestyle impacts both acute and chronic skin conditions with a particular focus on diet and nutrition.


Outside of the medical field, she loves to spend time with her four children and three dogs. She likes to stay physically active and loves to cook – especially whole foods plant based foods!
